keep it up man! these are awesome :D

EvanScale responds:

Thanks Eurns! Happy you like them!! :D

wow, interesting way to go about this challenge! i vike the contrast between the brich joyfull pink and the sad blue. Very good job!
i also really like the placement of the moon, the piece overall gives a real sense of tranquility.

some remarks:
-maybe you could try and make the transition from blue to pink in the moon a little softer, right now it kinde feels a little unnatural. If you really want to keep the bold transition i would suggest having it follow the shape/ curvature of the moon if that makes sense?

also the silhouettes of the buildings in the background seem to have dissapeared. I would also try to create a gradient of the red light you put in towards the sky and maybe have a couple of small clouds to break it apart.

Anyway, love it! good luck

Mythro responds:

Thanks for the feedback, man.

The transition of colors in the moon was originally smoother, but I have this problem where the colors on my graphics tablet are much more vibrant than the colors I see on my laptop screen. Seeing this image for the first time on my laptop, it seemed MUCH more dull and dead, so I have to compensate by adding extra saturation- and contrast-modifying layers over the entire image. This worked kind of well with everything else, but the moon was affected differently, and there wasn't any more time to change it...

Thanks again. I really do appreciate the advice.

looks really good! love the choice of colours in this one! kinda jealous of your drawing now :D

kittenbombs1 responds:

Thanks :), your's looks bad ass as well

I really like the tone you went for here, the desaturated colours work very well and set the mood perfectly! one remark though: because you coloured over the lineart of the main character it's lost it focus, and since he is the center of the piece he should stand out more compared to the background. try adding more solid lines and colours!

great job!

Great job! only remark is that you went a little bit overboard with the highlights. Right now the character has way too many and that makes it a little bit disorienting to watch. great effort though! keep it up!

MitsuHarp responds:

Well poop. I already submitted it, but thank you!! I will definitely keep that in mind for the future.

i like your drawing a lot but i don't think you belong in the beginner category,
you're probably ready for the open category with art like this ;)

it looks fine and i really like it but i feel like you kinda missed an opportunity here...
It still so close to the original style and i feel like you could have done more with tim burtons style in this piece.

nice! looks pretty good! i'm doing a danny phantom one too but in comic book style :)

such a simple and yet impressive piece! it's actually really calming to look at, great job! :)

JaredKoh responds:

Thanks!

Very good job! for i first digital drawing this is pretty impressive :)
I especially like the colour scheme, kinda reminds me of some pastel drawings i've seen :p

if i can ad one word of advice. Maybe try adding some more contrast in your next drawing so the character looks less flat and pops out a little more.

But overall great piece! good luck!

Nikasso responds:

Thank you very much for your review and your advice, i really share your opinion but it was a bit late to change the colors, so I will remember your tip for my next piece.
i wish you goo luck too :D
